A visit to Motoko’s Original Art is more than viewing art; it’s also an experience to remember. It’s about experiencing a restful interlude in a busy day; it’s about sitting in the garden and absorbing the natural surroundings; it’s about peacefully contemplating Motoko’s art in her elegant gallery; and it’s about meeting and getting to know Motoko.

Set on a hillside overlooking Farrington Cove in Pender Harbour, Motoko’s gallery features a garden, tucked against a cliff, that visitors are invited to enjoy. That cliff forms a natural amphitheatre, an ideal site for hosting a concert each year during the renowned Pender Harbour Jazz Festival.

Upon entering the gallery, one is immediately subsumed by an atmosphere of calm and tranquility. In the Japanese tradition of hospitality, Motoko and her staff welcome every visitor with a cup of tea. Cup in hand and surrounded by sophisticated but warm spaces featuring Motoko’s art, visitors are encouraged to take their time to soak in the art and the ambience.

“It makes me very happy when I see people enjoying being here,” explains Motoko. “I really like to welcome them into our garden and gallery and provide them with a day to remember.”
